Why
Interviews allow you to understand users and other stakeholders better by learning about them. You can find out more about their opinions, behaviours, goals, attitudes and experiences.
How
Invite representative participants, make them feel comfortable, and ask questions about your topic, for example product usage. Always check whether you are permitted to record the interview; if not let a fellow student make notes so that you can focus on the interview.
Ingredients
- Typically, 5 to 10 stakeholders.
- A clear goal for what you want to obtain.
- An interview guide with topics or questions.
- Active listening skills.
- Be able to improvise and ask ‘why’ a lot.
- A plan to capture and analyse the interview results.
